Let's start with a (not so) simple question:

What do you want?

STEP 1 : Think as hard as you want. Or don’t think at all. As the session begins, you will be guided to discover and put  "what you want" into a sentence.

In a session the focus is on YOU. You will form what we call a “sentence of intention” and there are no rules. (You’ve had enough rules in your life.) This sentence can be as long as you want. It can be word salad or it can be grammatically perfect. It can be symbols, a drawing – anything that pulls at you. There is no right way, except your way, because your unique way deepens the iD session’s sense of who you are by the choices you make, both consciously and unconsciously.

There will be others on Zoom with you, as well as a certified facilitator who will guide you, reminding you that you’re the boss, the captain of this “ship”.

What you type into the chat can be thoughtful, angry, pensive, desperate. You can spend days preparing or make it up on the spot. You can believe that something important will happen or be convinced this is ridiculous. We are strong believers in skepticism. Be you. Feel you. Think you. There is no other you, but you. And know that your sentence further helps sharpen the iD focus.

STEP 2: An iD facilitator will guide you to pick three words from your sentence and then have you ask three people to represent each word, which we call "resonating"

Over 30 years of clinical work have proven that exploring three elements of what is meaningful for you in the sentence (or drawing, etc.) deepens the focus further and keeps you from getting distracted with too much information as the iD session unfolds.

So, for example…

Once this is complete, everyone else will leave the screen and observe. You will repeat your sentence and let everyone know when you’re ready. Then the magic (the science - neurobiology, epigenetics, quantum mechanics) begins...

As the session unfolds, a second question will begin to emerge...

Who are you?

Often you will see aspects of yourself in the resonators. You may also see qualities of important people in your life, which have been imbedded in your neurobiology and biology, often having helped or hurt you as your identity developed.

And because resonating is essentially non-verbal the session may at times focus on non-verbal experiences, i.e., from before you could walk or talk, or maybe later in life – experiences you’ve forgotten or felt weren’t that important.

Incredibly, some experiences may be from your time in the womb or at birth or in early infancy. These experiences (good and/or bad) have been impacting the very core of how you have been behaving ever since, more often than not, without your knowledge.

Until now.

How it all works.

With People: Every moment we receive and transmit massive amounts of nuanced data through a multitude of interacting systems including the nervous system, neural, ocular, bacterial, digestive, muscular, genetic, hormone, skeletal, cellular, blood, genetic and psychological systems. It is this network of systems (more complex than anything else on earth) that is being put to work in every iD session

With Resonating:  This multitude of human systems has been developing since your conception. You and your mother resonated with each other while you were in utero. And you’ve been refining that resonating ability ever since, generally unconsciously.

So a resonator is simply focusing that ability on you, picking up aspects of your complex network of systems and resonating what you couldn’t (or didn’t want) to remember: the where, when and how you were wounded, traumatized, nurtured.

And this is done gently, because it is the resonator who experiences the feelings. Your role is to simply see it for now. Let those around you do the “heavy lifting,” because for them (and for you, when you resonate) it is a privilege, even an honor, to step into someone else’s “shoes”.

So to resonate is actually quite simple and natural. And wonderful. And we’ve all been doing it all our lives, even as we hardly knew it.

And all five “networks” in an iD session (the subject; the three resonators and the facilitator) are resonating - passing data back and forth sensing (and then articulating) body pains, memories, fears, delights, etc. - all of which have been gently focused by the dynamics of your sentence of intention.

Step 3: Become what you want.

Three things begin to happen when you start uncovering what has shaped you and why:

  1. The truth begins to set you free from what has held you back because you “see” it and can begin to (slowly and gently) adjust.

  2. The truth begins to show you how lovable and brave you have been from the very beginning. And still are.

  3. And from our experience, this growing awareness of the truth and love begins to change everything that matters.
