The  Facilitator Training Program

The Facilitator Training Program is a unique and comprehensive way to dive in and get to know - and heal - the deepest aspects of your psyche at a deep level not as readily accessible by other methodologies. Whether you are already in “the helping services” looking for additional resources for your toolbox or find yourself naturally called to the process of self-exploration, The Institute offers seven 10-week courses (70 weeks total) of basic training to become an iD Session Facilitator.

The Institute’s Facilitator Training Program is designed with busy lives in mind, meaning the modular aspect of the coursework can be completed based on individual needs. However, taking the courses in sequential order is beneficial for seamless learning. Each course builds upon the previous course.

The first four courses focus on trauma theory and can be stand-alone. The latter three courses focus on facilitation and help transition the participant from being a student to a being a full-fledged facilitator. Weekly class sessions are roughly four hours and focus on deepening individual understanding of self as well as the theoretical aspect of the material. To ensure a clear understanding of the Institute’s approach, coursework is comprised of the following: 

• Assigned reading and student discussions in between class sessions
• Class discussions of assigned reading so students are exposed to multiple perspectives
• Group ID sessions for each participant (typically two per person per course)
• Participant write-ups of their own session, followed up with group discussion
• Latter coursework includes supervised, student-facilitated sessions

Regardless of where you are on the spectrum of personal learning or professional growth, participation in the Facilitator Training Program will enhance your ability to be with yourself, and in turn with others, in an exponentially more fulfilling, satisfying, and heartened, empowered way.

You need no previous experience to participate in the training, though we recommend attending several open workshops to familiarize yourself with the work. But then again, who’s to say? Some have strong instincts and like to jump in blind when they feel a calling! Wherever you are in your journey, we are pleased to meet you!

The cost to enroll in the first Course is $1,100, and the cost of the entire curriculum (7 Courses total spanning just under two years) is $7,500.  It is designed pay-as-you-go, so the cost is approximately $1,100 every 3 months.

ID work has shifted the shape of my identity. I am more present to myself and to my life. Less and less does the feeling of urgency, of needing to do more or be more, of being fundamentally “not enough” arise or overwhelm me.
