Derek Carlson

Director of Media and Information Technology

Although I graduated #1 in my class with a BA in Computer Science from The University of Nevada, Reno, my lifelong searching has been for happiness and fulfillment - mainly because I had dealt with severe depression most of my life.  This led me to decades of searching and a deep interest in psychology and spirituality.

I received an MA in Spiritual Psychology from The University of Santa Monica in 2012, and I have been applying what I learned for the last decade to free myself from depression.  But just in the last two years did I discover iD work, and just in the last two years has the depression substantially disappeared. I attribute it to being a culimation of 30 years of healing work, but I also have found the iD method the most transformative of anything I have done.  And, quite unexpectedly, it has opened my heart to a deep compassion for the human condition.

The seemingly miraculous results in healing my depression through this work have kindled in my heart a deep desire to become am iD Work Facilitator.  If I can support someone in their own self exploration that leads to their liberation, as it has done for me, I feel like I am doing what I came here to do.  I will be a certified Facilitator in January, 2022.

"This work is about the deepest parts of yourself and the challenges, traumas and wounds that have not allowed you to understand who you really are and what you really want."
- Derek Carlson
iD sessions are not therapy, nor a substitute for therapy. But we are strong advocates of therapy and work closely with many therapists and other certified practitioners.
